My Story
Mindy Haukedahl is a psychotherapist, brain health professional, and advocate for holistic healing. Her work integrates neuroscience, emotional health, and whole-person wellness to help individuals overcome life’s most difficult challenges.
She has pursued extensive academic and clinical training, earning degrees from the University of Kentucky, Xavier University, Minnesota State University, and Adler Graduate School of Psychology, and is completing her PhD at Quantum University. Mindy is also trained as a brain health professional through Amen Clinics and holds international board certification in neurofeedback, specializing in the connection between brain function, emotional wellbeing, and physical health.
Mindy is the founder and psychotherapist at Afton Therapy, where she works with clients through a holistic lens that recognizes the deep relationship between the brain, the body, and emotional experience at a cellular level. Her approach combines evidence-based therapy, brain-based interventions, and whole-person care to support lasting transformation.
Her professional work is deeply shaped by her personal journey. After experiencing Lyme disease, Mindy came to believe that her struggle carried a greater purpose—to help others understand the body’s capacity for healing and to share a message of hope for those facing chronic illness, trauma, or emotional hardship. She lives in Minnesota with her husband, Seth, and their two children, Chase and Holly.
